Cookie policy
Cookies, in plain English

What runs here
If you choose "allow analytics" on the cookie banner, two tools switch on: Google Analytics, which tells me which pages get read, and HubSpot, which connects an enquiry you send to the pages you looked at first. If you choose "essentials only", neither loads — no scripts, no cookies, no cookieless pings.
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | Lasts | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
ss-consent | Search Solved | Remembers the cookie choice you made here, so you are not asked on every visit. | 12 months | Essential |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Counts visits and shows which pages get read. I use this to understand what content is useful. | Up to 2 years | Analytics |
__hstc, hubspotutk | HubSpot | Connects an enquiry you send through the contact form to the pages you visited beforehand, so I have context when I reply. | 6 months | Analytics |
__hssc, __hssrc | HubSpot | Short-lived session cookies that support the above. | 30 minutes / session | Analytics |
What I don't do
- No advertising or remarketing networks
- No selling or sharing of data with third parties for their own use
- No cross-site tracking — nothing here follows you around the internet
- No analytics at all unless you say yes first
Changing your mind
Your choice is stored on your device for 12 months, and you can change it any time:
You can also clear cookies for this site in your browser settings, which resets the banner. If you allowed analytics and later change to essentials only, the analytics scripts stop loading from your next page view; you can clear the existing Google and HubSpot cookies in your browser to remove them immediately.
