SEO audits built around the problem you need to solve

No generic checklist or all-in-one audit. I scope each audit around the question your business needs answered, then give your team a prioritised plan it can act on.

  • Fixed fees start at £4,500 and are agreed before work begins
  • Most audits are completed within 2–3 weeks
  • A prioritised plan covering what to fix, how to fix it and what to do first
  • A team walkthrough and wrap-up report are included, with ongoing consultancy available if needed

Choose the SEO audit that matches your problem

These are the audits I deliver most often. The final scope is tailored to your site, your business and the question you need answered.

Technical SEO audit

“Your development backlog is full of SEO tickets, but nobody knows which ones matter, what they will take to fix or why visibility is not improving.”

  • A focused diagnosis of the structural issues worth fixing, without a 500-item housekeeping backlog adding to technical debt
  • Crawling, rendering and indexing tested in sequence across every important template
  • How search engines and AI crawlers access your pages, including what they can and cannot see
  • A prioritised, developer-ready fix plan with impact, effort and dependencies made clear

Google update recovery audit

“Organic traffic fell after a Google update, or rankings keep sliding even though the content looks fine internally.”

  • A clear view of what lost visibility, what held steady, how the wider competitor landscape changed, why it most likely happened and what to improve before the next update
  • A page-level assessment of content quality, usefulness and how well pages match the search intent
  • The pages now outranking you, reviewed by hand to identify what they do better and what is genuinely worth matching
  • A prioritised recovery plan that addresses shared templates, site-wide patterns and individual pages

SEO content audit

“You have years of content, growing overlap and an archive that is no longer delivering enough organic value.”

  • An evidence-backed decision for every page: keep, merge, refresh, retire or differentiate
  • Overlapping pages grouped by topic and intent, showing where your own content is competing with itself
  • Detailed consolidation plans showing what to combine and what must be preserved
  • A rollout plan and copywriter briefs built around the capacity your team actually has

Bespoke SEO audits

“Your problem is specific, and none of the standard audit scopes quite fits.”

  • Competitor and opportunity analysis: where rivals earn visibility, why, and which gaps are commercially worth pursuing
  • Analytics and measurement audits: making sure the numbers are reliable before the business acts on them
  • Technical troubleshooting: a focused diagnosis when a specific feature, template or release has caused a problem
  • AI search visibility audits: how AI platforms describe your business, where their answers come from and what may be limiting your inclusion
Tell me what you're seeing

Not every problem needs a full audit. If something specific has broken or a migration is planned, tell me what's happening. I'll recommend the right scope of work, even when that means something smaller than an audit.

Tailored analysis, consistent handover

What every SEO audit includes

I handle every audit personally, from the initial analysis and team walkthrough through to the post-implementation review and wrap-up report. The scope changes with the problem, but the output stays consistent: clear evidence, prioritised actions and implementation detail your team can use. See client results

  • A written report with a prioritised action plan: what to fix, how to fix it and what to do first
  • Evidence behind every finding: where it occurs, how I verified it and why it matters to performance
  • Impact, effort, risk and dependencies assessed against your technology, team and delivery constraints
  • A team walkthrough to explain the reasoning, answer questions and agree the path to implementation
  • Implementation-ready documentation for the people doing the work, including developer tickets, copywriter briefs or page-level actions where needed
  • A wrap-up report after the agreed work has been implemented, confirming what changed, what remains outstanding, performance impact and what to focus on next

Optional extras

  • Optional implementation oversight: I manage priorities and dependencies, review the work and sign off changes as they go live
  • Optional impact tracking: each batch of changes marked against traffic, conversions, revenue or other agreed KPIs, with control pages where possible. Explore the live demo
  • Optional guardrail monitoring: I build and review checks around the risks uncovered by the audit, then contact you if something needs attention

Common SEO audit questions

Which SEO audit do we need?

Start from the symptom, but hold the theory loosely. A drop that lines up with an announced Google update is likely update-related; a drop after a known site change points technical. Neither should be assumed — a technical issue can land at the same time as an update, and vice versa, so every audit includes a sense check to qualify the working theory before the deep work starts. A slower, continued decline is harder to read: it could be AI Overviews and AI assistants absorbing your clicks, or a quality gap eroding visibility as competitors improve their sites. If it's genuinely unclear, that's what the first conversation is for.

What's wrong with a free SEO audit?

Free SEO audits are usually automated exports with a sales pitch attached: every issue flagged, nothing prioritised, and no evidence of what any of it costs the business. A paid audit exists to answer a harder question — which of these issues actually matter, in what order, and why. That takes senior analysis, not a crawler licence.

What access do you need for an audit?

Read-only access to Google Search Console and your analytics, plus permission to crawl the site. Nothing that lets me change anything, and nothing shared beyond the engagement. Access usually takes a few minutes to set up.

Can audits be combined?

Often they should be, because the symptoms overlap — and the clearest case is built in already: when a Google update has hit, the content quality audit opens with an impact-analysis phase that establishes what was hit and why before the assessment starts. Technical and content audits pair naturally around migrations and rebuilds. Where audits combine, they're scoped and priced as one piece of work with one prioritised plan, not two documents to reconcile.

What happens after the audit?

The audit doesn't end when the report is handed over. I take your team through the findings and provide implementation-ready documentation, then remain available for questions while the agreed fixes are implemented. Once that work is complete, I re-check it and provide a wrap-up report covering what changed, any early impact and what to focus on next. Optional implementation oversight, impact tracking and guardrail monitoring are available, but your team should be able to act without retaining me.

Not sure which SEO audit fits?

Tell me what you're seeing — the drop, the plateau, the numbers you don't trust — and I'll tell you honestly which audit pays, or whether none of them do.
